BRIDGE LIVE supports:
BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4 and BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 deliver powerful, simultaneous bidirectional encoding and decoding across UltraHD (exclusive to BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4), HD, and SD baseband sources. Both models also support UltraHD workflows from IP-based sources, making them highly versatile for modern production environments.
For instance, a pair of BRIDGE LIVE units can be deployed so that a broadcast facility receives three live encoded camera feeds from a remote location, decodes them back to SDI for editing and production, and at the same time sends program return to the remote site. In this workflow, BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4 provides up to 4-channel capacity, while BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 supports up to 8x HD channels—giving broadcasters scalable options to match their needs.
BRIDGE LIVE supports independent SDI source inputs while preserving precise synchronization during transport to end-point destinations. This enables fully synchronous end-to-end SDI workflows between a pair of BRIDGE LIVE units—commonly known as SDI backhaul or site-to-site SDI workflows.
Beyond point-to-point, BRIDGE LIVE extends its synchronous multi-channel capability to the cloud. A BRIDGE LIVE system can seamlessly deliver multiple synchronized feeds to a Comprimato Live Transcoder instance, ensuring consistent multi-source delivery across CDNs, platforms, and cloud services as IP video.
This scalability allows Synchronous Multi-Channel Transport to grow from a single BRIDGE LIVE pair to multiple interconnected systems, enabling complex workflows where multiple BRIDGE LIVE units simultaneously receive and send SDI.
To support modern production standards, HDR is also fully supported for end-to-end SDI workflows.
BRIDGE LIVE capabilities can be optionally expanded to include visually lossless JPEG XS encoding and decoding.

BRIDGE LIVE can take independent SDI source inputs and maintain their synchronous relationship while transporting the content to end-point destinations.
This functionality can take place between a pair of BRIDGE LIVE units for a synchronous end-to-end SDI workflow, often referred to as SDI backhaul or site-to-site SDI workflows. BRIDGE LIVE’s synchronous multi-channel capability is also supported for cloud contribution, whereby a BRIDGE LIVE system can send to a cloud instance of Comprimato Live Transcoder software for delivery to various platforms / cloud services as IP video.
BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4 delivers up to 4x UltraHD 12G-SDI for UltraHD I/O in a compact 1RU form factor. With dual 10 GigE ports for high-performance network connectivity and dual power supplies for redundancy, it’s built for reliability in demanding environments.
BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 provides up to 8x 3G-SDI channels for simultaneous multi-channel HD workflows, also in a space-efficient 1RU design. Like the 12G-4, it features dual 10 GigE ports and redundant power supplies for consistent, uninterrupted operation.
Both models offer flexible administration and monitoring, accessible through a standard network browser or directly via the built-in DisplayPort. For advanced workflows, BRIDGE LIVE supports agnostic monitoring and automation through REST API and SNMP integration.
One BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 in Tx mode (acting as SDI encoder), and one BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 in Rx mode (acting as SDI decoder) can preserve end-to-end synchronicity between up to 8x HD sources.
A BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4 in Tx mode transmitting to a BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4 in Rx mode ensures synchronicity across 4x UltraHD streams. In these scenarios, all Tx systems and SDI sources must share a common reference/genlock, and all Rx systems and SDI destinations must also share a synchronized reference/genlock
One BRIDGE LIVE 3G-8 in Tx mode can transmit up to 8x HD sources, which can then be received by multiple BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4 units in Rx mode across different locations—while preserving end-to-end synchronicity. For example, one site could ingest the SDI outputs into storage while another simultaneously broadcasts them live through a production switcher.
BRIDGE LIVE also extends these workflows to the cloud. When used with Comprimato Live Transcoder, it enables scalable, low-latency transport between on-premises signals and cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure. Advanced codec support reduces bandwidth consumption and ensures immediate distribution.
Note: AWS is cited as an example. Comprimato Live Transcoder can also be deployed with other cloud providers/services.
For live broadcast backhaul, BRIDGE LIVE offers a cost-effective and low-latency alternative to traditional leased lines. Remote SDI video sources can be transported over publicly available internet to the production facility, where they are converted back to SDI and routed into the facility’s internal infrastructure. Unlike secure leased lines, BRIDGE LIVE incurs no penalties for extended use and typically provides lower latency, making it ideal for time-critical productions.
In REMI workflows, BRIDGE LIVE can act as a central receiving hub for contribution streams from a wide range of sources, including third-party encoders, IP cameras, and AJA devices. For example, BRIDGE LIVE can ingest UDP or HLS streams from an AJA HELO Plus, SRT streams from a camera or encoder, and NDI feeds from AJA BRIDGE NDI, NLE software, NDI-enabled cameras, or other hardware-based encoders—converting them all to SDI for use at the production facility.
BRIDGE LIVE gives remote artists and clients access to reference-quality video, allowing them to view and contribute to productions as if they were on-site. This setup ensures creative collaboration can happen from anywhere, while media and equipment remain protected at the production facility.
By complementing remote desktop tools like RDP or Teradici, BRIDGE LIVE adds the high-fidelity video confidence required for creative review and executive sign-off. Codec options include H.265 (4:2:0, 10-bit) and H.264 (4:2:2, 10-bit) out of the box, with optional licenses enabling JPEG 2000 (4:2:2, 10-bit) and JPEG XS (4:2:2, 10-bit) for workflows that demand the highest quality with minimal latency.
BRIDGE LIVE can capture feeds directly from on-set cameras or recording devices and deliver them to remote stakeholders over an encrypted private connection. This provides a trusted, high-quality view into the studio or location, ensuring that directors, producers, or clients who cannot attend in person can still follow the action in real time.
With BRIDGE LIVE, geographically separated NDI production teams can be connected seamlessly over the public internet. For example, a live event can send multiple NDI camera feeds from the venue to a remote production or post facility. There, the signals can be distributed as both NDI and SDI, while program return feeds are sent back to the original location—creating a two-way, synchronized workflow.
BRIDGE LIVE is a complete platform for live video streaming, supporting widely used protocols including SRT, HLS, RTMP/S, RTP/UDP, and MPEG-TS. These standards ensure compatibility with services such as Twitch, YouTube Live, and Facebook Live.
Multiple inputs, diverse format support, metadata handling, and built-in redundancy allow BRIDGE LIVE to send different stream types simultaneously—to both CDN partners for public delivery and collaborators for retransmission, transcoding, or archiving.
For studios and broadcasters, BRIDGE LIVE simplifies content distribution by encoding mastered material for partners and OTT platforms.
It supports Adaptive Bit Rate (ABR) ladders, such as H.264 encoding with multiple profiles, which can be handed directly to a packager or CDN. With HLS output, devices like phones, tablets, or browsers automatically select the best stream based on bandwidth and device performance, ensuring optimized playback for every viewer.
Telecom, IPTV, and cable operators often require live event feeds to be delivered as MPEG-TS with H.264 or H.262 encoding. BRIDGE LIVE streamlines this process by converting SDI sources into ready-to-use transport streams. These feeds can then be stored, processed further, or sent directly to IPTV and cable distribution networks with minimal setup and low latency.
