Light Layers: Control Lighting with Precision

If you’ve ever had to compromise on lighting during rendering, this feature is for you. Light Layers lets you control exactly which surfaces and parts a specific light affects. That means you can adjust highlights and shadows on individual elements without changing the full scene.

This is especially useful during the final lighting phase, where the overall setup is done and only small tweaks are needed—saving you both time and effort.

Achieve instant variation in background objects with Randomization Nodes

Repetitive backgrounds can look flat and fake—but editing every object manually takes time. That’s where Randomization Nodes come in.

Now available in the Material Graph, this tool lets you add random variations directly inside a material. You can break up patterns without duplicating materials. Use nodes like:

  • Random float

  • Random shader

  • Random UV shift

Each instance of the material looks slightly different—helping you make stone tiles, wood panels, or other surfaces feel more real. You can also connect these random values to other nodes to drive brightness, displacement, or texture effects across the material.

Some common uses:

  • Randomly shift UVs so each tile or plank looks unique

  • Vary brightness across surfaces

  • Add small displacements to parts for a more natural feel

A Faster, Smarter KeyShot Cloud Library

The Cloud Library in KeyShot Studio 2025.2 is now faster and more secure. Users can:

  • Browse and download assets directly in the app (2025.2 or later)

  • Access higher-quality materials and models from KeyShot partners

  • Use the new interface designed for quicker access

If you’re on an older version, you can still browse and download manually — but we recommend updating to enjoy the full benefits.

AMD GPU Support (Beta)

You can now render using select AMD graphics cards, giving you more options than before. Supported GPUs include:

  • AMD Radeon PRO W7000 Series

  • Radeon AI PRO R9700

  • AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO / Max+ PRO

Better Color Picker + New PANTONE Dualities Colors

The upgraded Color Picker helps you select, manage, and apply colors with more ease. Whether you’re creating custom color groups or linking multiple colors, this tool removes the hassle and keeps things simple.

KeyShot Studio 2025.2 adds 175 new colors from the Pantone Dualities Palette. This includes a fresh mix of soft pastels and deeper shadow tones. These colors are available in both cotton and plastic libraries inside KeyShot’s color library.
